ADULT PROGRAMMES

Classes: The last few years have changed the world for all performers. We have emerged from Covid with the leading curriculum for Australian performers, designed to get them into the university courses and employment they dream of. Focussing on what is needed, our 2022 – 2023 (and beyond) courses are designed to build technical skill sets, audition technique, and individual resumes with solid credits that will interest industry professionals such as casting directors, directors, music producers, universities, and employers. Our world leading University Foundation Course (UFC) for students aged 17 and above – is designed and taught by graduates of some of the best performing arts tertiary courses in Australia and the world. Our Industry Foundation Course (IFC) for students aged 12 and above is designed and taught by those actively working as professional performers with credits in shows people will know.
Our approach works – and the list of alumni working in both Australia and overseas is testament to this.

The School at AIPA’s 2023 vocational courses are highly responsive to students needs and the ever-changing industry. We are focussed on the students and their individual growth. We set the bar high and then encourage students to push it to where it could be. We want them to discover their potential, define it and explore further. Where can they take themselves and their audiences creatively? Our vision for the next decade is to create an environment that simulates the situations and places they will be going into.  Theatres, sets, studios – the future. The attainable future for those who want to achieve.  We train creatives and performers alike to question what an artform can really be and then take us there. If you can’t see yourself being involved in any other industry, then AIPA is the place for you in ’23 and beyond.

Classes are streamed into age group, experience, and ability. This course is hands on and students will have weekly homework that needs to be completed in order to stay in the class. Students shoot pieces at the end of each semester that are then shown at film nights throughout the year and can be shared with family and friends. Students receive IMDb credits for the short films and web-series made, giving them a solid foundation in screen and helping them to actively build their resumes. Film streams levels allow students to work through the syllabus, which is built on industry standards and taught by industry professionals.

TABATA

Day and time TBA
If you hate the gym but are looking for a way to get fit, Tabata is a fun, high intensity workout that doesn’t require anything from you except to turn up with a towel and water bottle. The formula for a Tabata workout is simple: 20 seconds of all-out effort, followed by 10 seconds of rest. You pack as many repetitions as possible into 6 to 8 sets of 20-second workout periods while moving around the room to different stations. In Tabata workouts, you never have a full recovery between sets. Your heart rate should be at or near the max and you should be out of breath by the end of a four-minute session. Starting with a warmup your tutor will take you through each station of the programme before you get started. Great tunes and great energy will make your workout fun and rewarding. The school at AIPA staff are huge TABATA fans and are excited to bring it to you. Trial a class, you’ll be hooked! Classes are $32.50 a week (casual rate) or by the term $300.00 (ten weeks).

VOICE AND VINO

Day and time TBA
The school at AIPA’s very own ‘Piano man’ is ready to go in 2023! Finally, an adult singing class with the focus on YOU. Research shows that singing lowers stress, boosts immunity and lung function, enhances memory, and improves mental health. One of the best things about singing is that you don’t have to be good at it to reap the rewards. Each week we’ll start with a warm-up to ensure correct technique is implemented, and then learn repertoire from the 80’s through to today! We promise that you will feel at home when you walk in the room. You’ll feel great, feel supported, feel enriched, and love coming each week. Throw a song at the piano man and he will start playing along with you. A glass of BYO vino is optional while you sing. Come with a friend or make new ones. Classes are $32.50 a week (casual rate) or by the term $300.00 (ten weeks).
